What better place to celebrate St Andrew’s Day than in St Andrews? A beautiful if freezing cold day showed St Andrews off at its best. What a wonderful chapel the university has – St Salvator’s is a beautiful jewel set in the middle of the town. The choir had an excellent day, this time capably led by the RSCM Head of Choral Studies, Adrian Lucas in his first outing with the choir, ably accompanied as usual with Kevin Duggan on the very colourful organ! Our thanks also to the Rev Samantha Ferguson for making us feel so welcome, and for leading the service. Even more encouraging was the attendance of a good number of worshippers in the congregation, many coming from other events in their kilts! I am sure this will be a venue we will be returning to in the future!
Our next outing will be back in the capable hands of our own Musical Director, Frikki Walker, with Kevin accompanying again, this time in Glasgow Cathedral (Church of Scotland) with a special Choral Evensong for the Eve of Candlemas on 1 February 2020. Looking forward to yet another new location to sing in.
