Successful outing at St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth

Yesterday the choir worshipped with Choral Evensong in the lovely acoustics of St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth. With 2 new singers, and 2 guest singers, we also had a new Musical Director at the helm with Kevin Duggan, very capably accompanied on the organ – if on only one stop at times – by Steven McIntyre! 😀

Our thanks to Kevin and Steven – it is good for the choir to know that we can find a safe pair of hands in the rare circumstances when Frikki Walker, our usual Musical Director is unavailable, and it was a pleasure to again be sympathetically accompanied by Steven.

This was a very successful outing with a lush emotional soft pensiveness of the music, swelling grandly to the fortissimo acclamations echoing around the choir stalls and nave of the cathedral. The musical director and choir together made this a very enjoyable service, and we thank the Provost and staff of St Ninian’s, and look forward to a return in the future.

Now it’s full steam ahead for our 10th birthday celebrations in the beautiful St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh in May. Watch this space for details of this special event in our choir’s diary.
